If I Want to Be a Writer, I Can’t Teach Writing

I wanted the dullest, most mindless job possible. I wanted all the stress to vanish. Maybe, if I had the freedom to think about nothing, I could write again.

Quinn Forlini earned her MFA in creative writing from the University of Virginia. Her writing has been published in The Journal, The Greensboro Review, The Rupture, and elsewhere. She lives in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. You can find more of her work at, or follow her on Twitter @quinnforlini.
