Kai Cheng Thom, MSW, MSc, is a writer, performer, queer healer, somatic coach, and mediator based in Toronto/tkaronto, Canada. She is the author of five critically acclaimed books, including the Triangle Award-Winning essay collection I HOPE WE CHOOSE LOVE: A Trans Girl's Notes From the End of the World and the novel Fierce Femmes and Notorious Liars: A Dangerous Trans Girl's Confabulous Memoir. She is also a two-time Lambda Literary Award finalist and the 2017 winner of the Dayne Ogilvie Prize. Kai Cheng weaves together her many disciplines, from coaching to conflict mediation to creative writing, in the pursuit of facilitating transformative social change and a revolutionary politics of love. As a group facilitator and educator, Kai Cheng centers an anti-oppressive, trauma informed approach that weaves together personal growth with the creative process.
