Sycamore Review: accepting submissions for its 2023 Wabash Prizes in poetry and fiction. Submissions close February 28, 2023.

Aster Lit: seeking poetry and prose on the theme of paradox. Submissions close May 15, 2023. 

Cordella Magazine: inviting poetry, short fiction, essays, memoir, creative non-fiction, and visual art that relate to “a sense of spiritual life, ecology, and community” from women-identified and nonbinary creatives. Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis. 

The Dodge: seeking storiesin eco-writing, writing about animals, and translation. 

Ghost Girls Zine: accepting poetry, short works of fiction, short works of nonfiction (including diary entries), and visual art of all mediums on the theme of grief.  Submissions close February 1, 2023. 

Lewis Latimer House Museum: accepting applications for its six-session writing workshop on memoir and autobiographical writing focusing on themes of race and immigration. All eight selected writers will receive full scholarships. Applications close  January 22, 2023. 

The Lunar Journal: inviting poetry, prose, and art submissions.

Alaska Quarterly Review: inviting submissions of short stories, short novellas, and novel excerpts in traditional and experimental styles until January 21, 2023. 

Barrelhouse: seeking manuscript submissions for full-length memoirs and essay collections until February 5, 2023. Barrelhouse is also open for book review submissions on a rolling basis. 

ooking for true stories  All accepted pieces will be published in an upcoming book anthology and are accepted on a rolling basis until March 1, 2023. 

Shō Poetry Journal: seeking poetry for its revival issue. Submission close March 31, 2023.

SOLRAD: accepting pitches for essays, comics criticism/reviews, and interviews with artists, comics, and those in comics-adjacent fields. 

Quartet: seeking poetry submissions by women fifty and over until February 1, 2023. They will reopen their submissions in 2023 from May 1 to June 1 and September 1 to October 1.
