Cheryl Whitehead’s poems have appeared in Hotel Amerika, The Hopkins Review, Brilliant Corners: A Journal of Jazz and Literature, Measure, Callaloo, Calyx, Crab Orchard Review and other journals. She has twice been a finalist for the New Letters Poetry Prize, and for the Morton Marr Poetry Prize. She also been the recipient of an Emerging Writer’s grant from the Astraea Foundation. In 2019, her chapbook, So Ghosts Might Stop Composing, was published by Finishing Line Press. She teaches English at the Chatham School for Science & Engineering in North Carolina.
